Windows 11 DVD Cover

Hey Gang, I have been following the Windows 11 stuff going on and for the first time in a long time I am excited about what I see, we’re still rocking Windows 7 over here lol (yeah, yeah i know what you’re saying). Anyways the point of this is….I have made a DVD cover for the recently leaked build 21996 and wanted to share it with y’all so you can continue to fancy up your collection of builds.

And just a slight update, I decided to make a dark mode version as well, for those who like it dark:

PDC 2005 DVD COVERS

I mentioned in my last post the PDC2005 DVD Covers, Well, I finally got them packaged and .RAR’d up, I also included the PDC2005 data that was listed on the site back when the .ISO’s were available from Microsoft for download.

I snagged my .ISO’s from the site during the period when they were available and uploaded them to the BetaArchive site years ago, I had posted the DVD Covers on the site back in the day, but….like the PDC2003 covers, I removed the links after the same drama went on…anyways, here they are I left them the way they were when I first made them, I admittedly messed up the first DVD Cover and mistakenly left the Photoshop “guide lines” visible…lol such a dumb mistake but even more funny, I didn’t even notice it until I printed them out and went to put them in the cases…lol

PDC 2003 DVD COVERS

I made these a while ago and I realized I didn’t post them here, I posted them years ago on BetaArchive and removed them after some drama went on…anyways here are some DVD Covers to go with the PDC2003 “The Goods” DVD’s.

I have covers for the PDC2005 DVD’s as well and I will post those also, some of you may have downloaded them years ago, this is for the folks who missed them. Hope you like em.

**offtopicness – dudes & dudettes, there is some crazy shit going on in the world presently, I watched an interview with Bill Gates on CNN the other night and the shit he said about COVID-19 was terrifying and he referenced the 2015 TED Talk he did where he talked about COVID-19 and the recommendations he made and how none of them were put into action…I Live in Canada (in Nova Scotia to be exact) and we were the last province to get cases of COVID-19, my family and I are safe, I have asthma and have been chilling at home for the last few weeks just cooling out, we are (I am) lucky. I hope you ALL are taking the necessary precautions to keep yourself and your families safe. if i may drop some philosophy on you – “Concern yourself with your choices, NOT your circumstances” take care and be good to one another <spreadlove>

36 Longhorn DVD Covers

I figured it was time for a refresh…. Back in 2010 I set out to create DVD Covers for all of the leaked Windows Longhorn Builds that were available. Since the “2020 leak” I have been back at it again and have quite a few new ones to add to the collection. I do want to give credit and thank the folks @BetaWiki for some of the info that was included on the covers, I used them as a source for continuity.

I left the original DVD Covers as they were and included the new ones in the .RAR, Here is whats included in the download – DVD Covers for:

3683
3706
3718
4002
4005
4008
4011
4015
4017
4020
4028
4029
4030
4031
4033
4038
4039×2
4040
4042
4048
4050
4051
4053
4066
4074
4081
4082
4083
4085×2
4086×3
4087
4093

*….I’ll be honest I didn’t know what to do for multiple releases of the same build number Like: 4030/4031/4086, I created three covers for 4086 and two for 4039, but didn’t for 4030 & 4031, I planned to use the same cover for 4030 and 4031 printed three times, but changed my mind as I kept making them, lol. I guess if people prefer three different covers for 4030 and 4031 I can create them as I have a template and it wouldn’t take much time.

**Credits & Shit – I wanted to include credit to the photographers of the photos I used for some of the covers – but I was unable to find any names attached to the images I used, if you know who took the photos or are the photographer please let me know and I will include credit to you, if you don’t want me to use your images, let me know as well and I will remove the cover from the pack and create another one.

That’s that! hit the download button and get fancying up your collection, hope you enjoy the covers.

“Getting Users to Fall in Love with Your Software”

Man its been a long time since I watched the PDC2003 video with Hillel Cooperman, some people call it the AERO demo others call it the “Getting Users to Fall in Love with Your Software” demo…either way it blew our minds when we saw it and for the longest time the video was lost, never leaked, it wasn’t included in any of the PDC03 DVD’s or accompanying notes and it wasn’t until years later before we started to get bits and pieces of the demo. I believe Long Zheng was one of the first people to post the video on his blog as it started to make the rounds, I remember downloading fragments of the video back in 2007 as .flv’s  and it wasn’t until 2008 before I was able to get my hands on the full video…I was geeked out watching it, we were all geeked out, I shared it with as many people as I could and posted about it on joejoe.org back in the day.

Back in 2018 something crazy happened, ReflectiaX took to his YouTube page and posted the FULL HD demo for the first time publicly and watching it in HD is far better than the videos we had years ago the eye candy is still slick as hell and the visuals are amazing even 17yrs after PDC03, the videos we “had” were pretty crap quality compared to what he posted but you never complain about quality when its all you have, if you haven’t seen it, you should and you must, lol

So….. where is this going, (man i love to ramble on) well…years ago back in the WLM (Live Messenger) days,  received lots of stuff from different sources, some of those people were very trusted people, “trusted” in that they would share things with you trusting that you wouldn’t share them with other people and wouldn’t leak the data/builds or whatever to other people or other sources, it was kinda the way things were back then and a great way to determine if you could trust someone with something…so you could possibly leak them something bigger or better (builds possibly), I recently stumbled across something that was part of the demo that I haven’t seen posted out there anywhere and wanted to  share today from this screenshot specifically, during this demo two wallpapers were shown, the Grass wallpaper and the one shown below, I still haven’t been able to find out where the picture was taken, if anyone knows, lemme know so I can add it to the details.

The wallpaper in the above screenshot eluded me for the longest time, I thought it was going to be one of those things you never find, like the Cherry Blossom wallpaper from the Athens PC Concept demos until someone gifted/shared this with me – that was back in 2012 from what I can tell…i’ll also add that I really miss WLM man Microsoft really messed up buying Skype and killing off Messenger, that’s a whole other topic for another day, I’ll also mention that super sexy WindowsMediaPlayer  app running on the desktop, damn that thing was so slick, Anyways – I have engaged the source who gave this too me and they have agreed that its OK for me to post this, so if you don’t have this in your collection….now’s the time.

Sorry for the size format its 1440×900, I cant recall if I resized it or if it was that size when I received it, I have another copy that’s 1280×910 which just seems like a super weird size to me, so I am going to say that I more than likely edited what was given to me so I could use it as a desktop background, my monitors were 1440×900 back around that time frame.

so that’s that, I hope you were able to add this to your collection, I am not aware of any larger sizes out there, I wasn’t able to find any…if i do i will update the post.

Longhorn Leaks

The faucets are leaky again and in the best way ever…those of you who have peeped the Beta Archive post by Steven a.k.a grabberslasher from the http://uxunleaked.blogspot.com/ site have already read the news about the biggest Longhorn leak of multiple builds in a long time, if not the biggest leak ever of builds to be released all at once, the list is pretty crazy and fills gaps in everyone’s collection.

He’s also mentioned that some of the builds are bootable and some are not and there is a mention of possibly some other Vista builds leaking also, I can only imagine that this will be the biggest leak of the decade and for some its long over due and some long awaited builds for people to install and mess around with, this is what the list looks like currently as posted on BA

6.0.5356.winmain.060330-1450

6.0.6001.17119.longhorn.071210-1916

^^^On the list above it is mentioned that grabberslasher is unsure of where those builds possibly came from and that hes not sure if the sources of those builds wants them to be kept safe and unleaked but it looks like he is engaging old sources to see if they came be leaked as well..

The topic is going to get more and more crazy as the days, weeks, months go, so head on over to Beta Archive to get the goods and read the details of whats going on: https://www.betaarchive.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=40726 .

**EDITwell here we are roughly 24hrs after the post was made about the leaks and the topic is locked, people cant keep their opinions to themselves and risk possibly fucking things up for the whole community, people are acting ungrateful in regards to why it will take so long to process the builds and of course they get greedy by taking on a “I want it now attitude” because they just want access to the builds.. I am not here to argue either just talk “MY” opinion on “MY” blog…guys this is bullshit man, you need to learn how to respect the people who are providing you with the builds, I wasn’t involved in any way but even I felt disrespected after someone called grabberslasher names, it seemed like a virtual slap in the face due to someones impatience.. people don’t owe YOU shit and builds don’t have to leak.

Happy Collecting

Windows 7 is no longer supported

After 10 years since its release (RTM July 22 2009/general availability Oct 22 2009) and since mainstream support ended back in Jan 2015, Windows 7 has reached the end of extended support on Jan 14th 2020 – Extended Security Updates paid in yearly installments for 1, 2, or 3 years (or free for Windows Virtual Desktop users) until at most January 10, 2023 only for Professional and Enterprise volume licensed editions.

I was lucky enough to be able to test Vista and Windows 7 and even more lucky to snag a copy of Win7 Ultimate from TechNet back in the day and I am still using that same copy from back then, so I am a bit sad to see there is no more support for it. Honestly it means I am going to need to update sooner than later and will move on to Win10 eventually, I just installed the Edge browser on Win7 and so far I am happy and impressed, it uses a bit more memory resources (from my experience about 20MB more than IE 11)

I read documentation on the Microsoft site about Win 7 being end of life and it outlines they will no longer be providing the following:

-Technical support for any update
-Software updates
-Security updates or fixes

And they suggest moving directly to Win10 for the “best” user experience and note that “it is possible to install Windows 10 on your older device, it is NOT recommended” I am not sure if that’s just a ploy to get people to buy new PC’s or devices but there’s a link right on the Microsoft site to “BUY” a new PC, lol….go figure.

*Just before posting this is found a small work around to disable the the “end of support message” and while some can just select the “don’t remind me again” message to block future popups you can remove it at a registry level as well:

Disable the Windows 7 end of support popup
1. Use Windows-R to open the Run box. Type regedit to start the Registry Editor.
2. If an UAC prompt is displayed, confirm it.
3. Navigate to the following path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\EOSNotify
4. If the Dword value DiscontinueEOS is listed under EOSNotify, double-click it and set its value to 1.
5. If it is not yet, create the value (right-click on EOSNotify, select New >Dword (32-bit) Value).

*Selecting “don’t remind me again” will set the DiscontinueEOS value to 1.

2020 Updates

Hey gang, I wanted to make a post as I have been slowly going through the site and updating links and images since the Photobucket shit happened. Since my last post, they continued to email me about my content and they increased the amount of money they wanted from me from $4.72 per month to nearly $10 to host my images and then they started to block my images permanently with blurring and watermarks even when they were clicked on, none of this “Right-click to view full resolution version” bullshit they were talking about initially..

Anyways I have started to bypass that bullshit, its 2020 and “aint nobody got time for dat” I haven’t updated everything but my plan is to get as far away from using Photobucket as much as possible before I kill my account with them.

When I dig back through previous content man Longhorn still blows my mind, that shit was awesome yo (the nostalgia is real) lol, I wasn’t a fan of Win8 and it was around that time that I started to back away from the scene and focus on music again and if I dare be honest I haven’t even touched Win10 at all, I have seen screenshots of it and that’s about it I have zero experience with it but now that Win7 is going to be “end of life” on Jan 14 2020 I am gonna need to figure something out eventually – I feel like a Windows newbie all over again like its the early 2000’s again 🙂

As per usual thank you so much for coming by and consuming content I appreciate it a lot and I hope you were able to find something useful, gain some knowledge and snag some downloads.

Photobucket Shit

Hey Everyone,

long time no post huh? I AM STILL ALIVE.. the rumours are false and don’t believe the hype!!

lol first off I wanted to thank everyone who still visits this site, I check in fairly frequently but don’t have the time to post much regrettably….we are averaging roughly 1000 visitor’s per month, which is still pretty good for a site that doesn’t post updates much, THANK YOU YO!

the reason for the post today is to let you know whats going on with the site…I use photobucket for hosting my images and if you use photobucket as well for any kind of image hosting, you may know where this is going. Recently (over the last month) I have been getting emails that Photobucket has turned into a subscription based platform now and therefore will be limiting bandwidth usage for “FREE” users of their service.

Free accounts are restricted to 25MB of bandwidth per month now, after having my account for roughly 10yr or more, its kinda disappointing but this is the way of the internet now a day, seems like sooner or later everything is going to be subscription based…well i am letting you know this because I am not going to pay any money and therefore some of the images I have posted – that are hosted by Photobucket are going to be blurred out and watermarked BUT the full images and full resolution will still be viewable at the click of a button.

eventually I would like to find a better way to host images because to be honest, photobucket kinda sucks…not just because they are switching to a “pay per month” model, but their site is painfully slow when logged in and the interface is a mess and impossible to navigate sometimes..

So that’s it yo! that’s a wrap… not sure how this is going to effect the site going forward, but I have some space in my WordPress to upload images and may transfer some stuff over eventually.
